I think he should have brought out a real bull, painted it red, and then shot it.

Now that's controversy.

Makes one wonder if the same thing would have happened had Eskandarian been thrown a bottle of Pepsi, Gatorade, or Perrier.

Well, it would have been a big deal if they were playing the Columbus Perrier Sparkling Soccer Stars.

The only reason he was fined $250.00 was so there would be some news. The MLS needs all the publicity they can get. When I heard about the celebration and that he could be facing a "fine", I seriously was trying to figure out what the big deal was.

He was thrown a can. He drank some. He spit it out. Controversy?

When this all started I thought that he was getting fined because Red Bull interpreted his actions as "Red Bull go screw yourselves for renaming the team and pissing a lot of people off." And maybe that is what he was doing, but Red Bull certainly wouldn't want to make a big show of being pissed as people are already pissed at them so they pressured the MLS back office to do something. So rather than make a mountain out of a molehill all parties decided that $250.00 would just be laughable enough to not really mean anything at all except "Don't Drink, Spit, and Celebrate".

This is from 2005, so I think it's safe to assume that his salary either stayed the same or even increased.

I agree with your overriding point.

However, I think there's a fair shot that he's not making six figures.

Right, but at six figures+ for salary, it's still little more than a slap on the wrist. I don't necessarily agree with the fine, but if they want it to have some teeth, $250 isn't going to do it.
