Check out this video of Landon Donovan and Drew Carey’s appearance on The Best Damn Sports Show Period. Donovan was there to pimp the “Kick It Clear With CLARITIN®” soccer clinic (this paragraph is a study it atrocious nomenclature) and Carey talked about his World Cup show on the Travel Channel.
Should I be happy that the USMNT is getting big-time pub at home or upset at the way the hosts were condescending toward Donovan and Drew Carey? Perhaps more importantly, were the hosts condescending or do I just have a persecution complex?
If you listen carefully, I think you can here the frustration in Carey’s voice. He tries desperately to explain that he’s the real deal—an actual fan—but he’s given short shrift each time by the guys on the couches.
Whatever the case, I’m happy that Carey is on board. Maybe he and Anthony LaPaglia will be our answer to Spike Lee and Jack Nicholson.

It is hard to believe falling in love with a sport like that. Most people fall in love with a sport from playing it growing up, so a little disbelief is understandable.
