In an effort to cheer people up.
Editor’s note: The following is the second post in a series I’m calling “Dispatches From Deutschland,” written by world-traveler and occasional ThroughBall.com contributor, Mark.
Though this may upset some who weren’t able to be there.
Basically take this hair (yes we added glitter!):
+ this outfit:
+ 280 Euros for two tickets to the game (Roger and Alston wherever you are thank you so much)
+ stopping traffic through downtown Nurnberg in a parade with a bunch of other USA fans:
+getting to sing the national anthem with several thousand other US fans at the stadium in Nurnberg
= words cannot even describe. I almost cried after the anthem was over and I have to admit to getting a bit misty-eyed just thinking about it.
I know this won’t cushion the hurt of being out, but at least we can be proud for the fans showing up and representing our country well.

Well done, Mark!!!
All the news about our great fans has been the best thing about this Cup.
