Profiles in potential: Bob Bradley
Recently, I listed eight potential coaches for the U.S. Men’s National Team (as determined by Grant Wahl). The following is the fourth post in a series of biographical sketches—cleverly entitled, “Profiles in potential“—focusing on each of these prospective managers.
The fourth candidate is Bob Bradley.
Age: 48
Where he’s from: New Jersey
What he does now: Manages Chivas USA
What he did then: Bradley started his coaching career at the tender age of 22 when he took over the program at Ohio State University. His days of coaching college teams included stints at the University of Virginia (under Bruce Arena) and Princeton.
Bruce Arena hired Bob Bradley to be his assistant at D.C. United in 1996. Bradley left in 1998 to coach the Chicago Fire. He was fired by the team in 2005.
Absurdly unofficial odds that he will get the job: 1542 to 1
