Top ten reasons the search for a new U.S. coach has taken so long
This is a brilliant piece by Ives Galarcep that provides, Letterman-style, the top ten reasons Sunil Gulati’s search for a U.S. Men’s National Team coach has taken too long. Among the gems:
10. He can’t decide what’s worse, Bob Bradley’s Spanish or Jose Pekerman’s English.
6. Still trying to decide which candidate is most likely to flop so he can pull an Isiah Thomas and coach the team himself.
4. Juergen Klinsmann won’t take the job unless Gulati promises to have Eric Wynalda whacked.
Private note to Sunil: We’ve got a game in 46 days so, you know, anytime you want to, like, make the decision, that’d be pretty sweet.

HAHAHAHA #4 is great. Hey – I liked Eric’s commentary – he was brutally honest, something I think we all needed. But still funny.
You hit the nail on the head. Games are fast approaching and if we ever need a strong set of friendlies and qualifiers, it’s now that we’re ranked among such powerhouses as Tunisia, Serbia, Uruguay, and Ecuador. Of course the Socceroos dropped like a stone too – 39? I missed that when they first came out.
Here’s hoping we know something soon. Any. Day. Now.

Soccer Dad,
I have to agree. Wynalda is brutal but he hits the nail on the head on many occassions.
Make it an echo chamber, then. I concur.
