Klinsmann withdraws from consideration
Juergen Klinsmann released a statement today, saying:
Sunil and I have concluded our discussions about the US men’s national team program, and I have withdrawn my name from consideration as coach. I’m not going to go into details about our conversations. But, I certainly want to wish the next coach of the U.S. men’s national team much success, and I want to, also, thank Sunil for the opportunity to exchange ideas
According to a source close to the negotiations, Bob Bradley is next on the list. Wait. Bob Bradley? Seriously? That’s like saying, “I guess I can’t get the BMW, so I’ll just ride this Big Wheel instead.” OK, that might be a little harsh but I expect everyone to now call him Bob “Big Wheel” Bradley.
According to the same story, “issues of executive control over the U.S. program” were at the center of the Klinsmann/USSF dispute.
Update I: Trekker backtracks, says money, adidas not the issue.
Update II: Ives Galarcep says the announcement is coming tomorrow, but it is official right now: Bradley is in for at least the next six months.

crap… who’s Bob Bradley?
Funny you should ask.
I’m thinking you need to buy a lottery ticket or go to Vegas.
Seriously though. Plan B is Bradley? I can understand that they’ve been working for Klinsi all this time and things were progressing, but geez. The post meltdown spin should be interesting. No way this happens without USSF ’sources’ telling Trekker and friends why it blew up this late in the game.
