Landon Donovan’s (many) wedding gift registries
In a twist of cosmic injustice, U.S. Men’s National Team star player pool occupant, Landon Donovan, will wed the lovely semi-celebrity, Bianca Kajlich, on the most romantic day of the year: New Year’s Eve, 2006.
The Big Lead points out that the couple is registered at Macy’s (click here for the registry). While a lot of the products they registered for are nice, it certainly isn’t the kind of stuff that you’d expect a professional athlete to need. Bob at The Offside cleared it up for me: “Keep in mind that he is still drawing an MLS salary so you might be able to understand why a $21 mug would be on the wish list.”
I got to thinking about all the ways that Mr. Galaxy and I are similar. To wit: my prematurely-gray hair makes me appear older, much as Landon’s male pattern baldness makes him look significantly older. While Landon and his bride-to-be registered at Macy’s, when my wife and I were engaged, we registered at Marshall Field’s (now Macy’s). Also, if I had the chance, I would have scored at least the same number of goals as Donovan tallied during the last World Cup.
The similarities are astounding. And here’s one more: in addition to registering at Macy’s, my wife and I also registered at Pottery Barn. It seems Landon and Bianca did too. Check out that registry here. Note to Landon: The Springwood collection at Pottery Barn is fantastic. Good choice!
Bianca and Landon are also registered at Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma.

FYI all this was posted on Bigsoccer.com over a month ago.
Congratulations. You’ve posted the most feckless and vapid comment on this site.
You should e-mail CNN to tell them to stop reporting the whole Iraq thing because MSNBC already has it covered.
Words . . . fail me.
Seriously, Josh, you would have at least made the keeper save one.
