Landon Donovan’s wedding gift delivered

meattender.jpgLast week, we bought and shipped a wedding gift for Landon Donovan and his fianceé, with the hope of receiving the thank you card mandated by common courtesy. Unfortunately, we could not afford the step-stool from Crate & Barrel. Instead, we purchased a beautiful meat tenderizer from Williams Sonoma.

When ordering the gift, Williams Sonoma allowed me to write a personalized message. Since this was a collective effort and the money was raised thanks to faithful readers, some of whom love Donovan, some of whom don’t, I wrote: “CONGRATULATIONS FROM LANDON’S FANS, CRITICS AND AMBIVALENT OBSERVERS AT THROUGHBALL.COM.”

The happy couple will be joined in holy matrimony on December 31. On December 22, the gift was delivered to Beverly Hills.

And now we wait.
