Diego Maradona dodges the tax man

Argentine soccer star Diego Maradona’s money transfers and other transactions are being probed in court at the request of tax authorities, the nation’s Central Bank confirmed Wednesday.

Normally, I’d show outrage at the news of a millionaire athlete who acts like he is above the law. With that criteria, however, I would have had to start getting angry with Diego a long, long time ago during his get-coked-up-and-shoot-at-reporters phase.

And frankly, I’m no policy expert, but I think anyone who gets down like this shouldn’t have to pay taxes.
