Serie A: a culture of corruption
Can we get through just one season without talk of stripping someone of a title? If you haven’t heard, Inter and AC Milan are being investigated for cooking their books.
After last season’s issues in Serie A, you would think these teams would be on their best behavior. Maybe you need to cheat to win in Serie A. What can they do about this? Perhaps a ban from all European competitions or closed-door matches (of course, they already tried this after a police officer was killed at a league game in Italy) might get through to the teams.
What else can be done? Honestly. Between this, the bung issues in England, ref bribing in Germany and rampant racism in Spain are there any ethics in European football?
You don’t see these issues in MLS

The issues in England concerning transfers is so common in Spain and Italy that it’s not considered unusual or cheating there. To compare that to what happens every season in Serie A and La Liga is a joke. The EPL and Ligue 1 are the shining examples of leagues that are adamant about fair play.
As for the MLS, well, you don’t see any of these issues in any of the lower leagues in any country because basically, it matters less.
To my knowledge, one doesn’t see these issues in the USA, period. Even in the ‘big money’ sports.
Still, like Brian said, I can’t see lumping in the EPL with the cheating cultures of La Liga and Serie A.
For all the bung issues being talked about in the English game, there really haven’t been a lot of arrests, point deductions, relegations, etc. Nothing really seems to be happening (at least to the grand extent the press was making out) to anyone of real importance or standing.
